Many people live with trauma that feels frozen. It doesn’t go away with time. It stays hidden in the background, only to re-emerge in moments of stress — or ironically, in moments of calm. For some, it comes as panic attacks, flashbacks, or vague unease. For others, it shows up in the body — headaches, exhaustion, illness with no clear cause.

When trauma hasn’t been processed, it doesn’t stay quietly tucked away. It finds ways to speak.

Often, people are told to manage it. Talk through it. Medicate it. But those approaches rarely resolve the root. Why? Because trauma isn’t stored as words, or in a timeline. It’s stored as sensations, emotion, and energy. And what the system needs is not more talking — but a safe and effective way to process what was never finished.

This is where the Boulderstone Technique offers something radically different.


Understanding Trauma as a Stuck Response

Trauma happens when the mind is overwhelmed — when too much comes in, too quickly, and we don’t have the capacity to understand or respond. If the experience can’t be processed at the time, it gets held in the system. The life force, which normally flows freely through us, becomes distorted.

From that moment on, one part of you (what we call the I-force) tries to suppress the trauma. Another part — your life force — keeps trying to process it. This internal tug-of-war creates tension, symptoms, and that feeling that you’re not quite “right”.

And because your system is always looking for a safe time to finish what was started, trauma often resurfaces when you’re finally relaxed. It can feel cruel — panic attacks when you’re lying in bed, flashes of distress when you’re watching TV. But it’s not cruelty. It’s your life force trying, again, to finish what it began.


Why Talking Therapies Struggle

Most therapies aim to understand the trauma — to build a story. But trauma doesn’t always exist as a clear story. It may have no words. It may not make logical sense. If it happened in childhood, or even before birth, it may never have been recorded in your conscious mind at all.

Trying to explain what can’t be explained often creates more distress — and keeps the trauma active.

What’s needed isn’t understanding.What’s needed is resolution.And that’s exactly what the Boulderstone Technique makes possible.


How It Works — A Practical, Gentle Method

The Boulderstone Technique works with the life force directly. During a session, the patient lies on a massage couch, and the practitioner gently holds their head. A single word — a neutral, symbolic representation of the trauma — is written on paper. This is called the “trauma ticket”.

The patient places the trauma ticket on their stomach, and while it’s “on”, they connect lightly with the trauma — just enough to access a manageable portion of it. The practitioner can feel the distortion in the life force begin to surface.

Once enough has been accessed — and before it becomes overwhelming — the practitioner says “off”, and the patient removes the ticket. The connection ends, but the small piece of trauma that surfaced remains active and can now be processed.

Processing happens naturally — the body and mind are built to do it. All that’s required is to keep the patient focused, safe, and undistracted. The distortion shifts and contorts, and then settles into a still point — a place of peace where the trauma no longer lives.

This process is repeated, ticket by ticket, until there’s nothing left to clear.


What Healing Feels Like

There’s no moment of fanfare or drama. No emotional breakthrough. No need to “relive” the experience. Just a quiet shift. And then another. Until the body no longer reacts. Until the flashbacks stop. Until peace becomes the default, not the exception.

When the trauma is truly gone, the still point remains. You can think about the past without flinching. You can feel the present without fear. You’re not managing symptoms anymore — you’re free.
